Background: Denise Beutel is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education. Denise 's background is as a secondary chemistry and junior science teacher in both state and private sectors. She completed an EdD in 2006 in which she used a phenomenographic approach  to explore the nature of teacher-student interactions. To date, Denise has supervised doctoral and master's students in the areas of the professional learning of teachers, gifted adolescent wellbeing, learner autonomy, behavioural interventions, leadership development, professional learning communities, accounting curriculum, and learning networks. Research areas: Her current research interests include:
