The Transport Engineering Group at QUT’s School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) leverages real-time multimodal traffic and transport data, combined with state-of-the-art experimental and computing capacity.

The multidisciplinary expertise of the group enables delivery of evidence-based and data-driven holistic solutions to safe, efficient, sustainable and resilient transport systems – now and into the future.

The Transport Engineering Group within the Faculty of Engineering includes researchers specialising in:

  • Transport network modelling and simulation
  • Transport planning and travel behaviour
  • Road safety engineering and NextGen transport safety
  • Public transport demand and operations
  • Intelligent transport system
  • Traffic operation and control
  • Transport equity
  • Transport systems analysis and evaluation
  • Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS), and Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAV)

The Group currently involves over 45 postgraduate students solving real world transport problems.
