Collectively, QUT researchers with significant interests and strong research records of accomplishment in transport and logistics have been conducting groundbreaking research across several disciplines within the Science and Engineering Faculty, Faculty of Health, and the QUT Business School.

The Transport Research Group within the Science and Engineering Faculty includes researchers specialising in transit (public transport) planning and operations, intelligent transport systems, traffic engineering, transport planning, road safety, and transport infrastructure asset management. The Group currently involves over 30 postgraduate students solving real world transport problems.

The Group has established a number of national and international partnerships and affiliations with organisations including Queensland Transport and Main Roads, iMove CRC, the US Transportation Research Board, Institute of Transportation Engineers, World Conference on Transport Research Society, Australasian Transport Research Forum, East Asia Society for Transportation Studies, and World Society for Transport and Land Use Research.
