Shashiprabha is specialised in fashion and lifestyle designing during her Bachelor’s Degree and Brand and Product Management in Fashion Direction during her Masters. Currently Shashiprabha is reading her PhD focusing on Folklore, Fashion Practices and Performing Arts and working as a Research Assistant in Department of Textile and Apparel Engineering, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. She is also interested in Sri Lankan Craft Industry, especially on handweaving techniques and printing techniques. Believing “Heritage as a good source to create our own identity” she is doing her PhD research based on finding out the diminishing values of Sri Lankan culture, that can be revitalised through fashion with a contemporary touch. Unique Sri Lankan textile production methods, designs and printing techniques are expected to be explored through creative practiced led research during this study.
