Professor Sue Walker

Throughout my career as an early childhood educator, I have been passionate about making a difference in children’s lives. This led to my early research into children’s peer relationships in early childhood, and the transition to school for young children with additional needs. Since 2007, my research focus on child outcomes and child development expanded to include adult development (teacher education and preservice teachers’ epistemic development) in order to promote positive child outcomes through teacher development.

Being reflexive can mean taking the time to drift along.

I see this project as the next logical step – promoting epistemic reflexivity in teacher educators to support preservice teacher development and ultimately the learning and development of diverse groups of young children. I have thoroughly enjoyed this journey of discovery with our wonderful team of researchers.
