NASA and PSE find best evidence yet of life on Mars

NASA and QUT researchers have this week published the best evidence yet for potential biosignatures on Mars. The Bright Angel formation was found to feature iron phosphate and sulfide minerals in an organic carbon mudstone – which in Earth conditions can be the byproduct of microorganismal activity.

QUT Planetary Surface Exploration Group scientist David Flannery co-authored the study in Nature which used data analysis software developed by a team led by Peter Nemere at QUT.
