Short Biography
Paul completed a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours at the University of Queensland in 2015, followed by working in the Queensland Health Forensics and Scientific Services unit as a laboratory technician before commencing a PhD from 2017 – 2021 at the Australian Institute for Bio-Engineering and Nanotechnology at the University of Queensland with A/Prof Idriss Blakey. Research conducted was in the field of analytical and physical chemistry, focusing on using Vitamin B12 coated gold nanoparticle assemblies for the detection of small anions in solution and air using Surfaced Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS). This was followed by a 1 year post-doctoral position with Prof Jason Stokes and A/Prof Idriss Blakey at the University of Queensland working on manipulating phases of nanocellulose using polymeric materials. He commenced a post-doctoral research position in 2022 at the Queensland University of Technology under Dr Nathan Boase working on the high-throughput synthesis of antiviral polymeric materials using 96 well plate chemistry.
