Modules Overview

The project will leverage the interactive and visual capabilities of Virtual Reality (VR) to enable participants to embark on a journey through modules featuring two of Queensland’s most treasured eco landmarks—the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest. Participants will witness the rich tapestry of biodiversity within these ecosystems and engage with simulated conservation scenarios that highlight the impact of actions such as habitat restoration, pollution mitigation, and species protection.

Great Barrier Reef Module

The first Eco-Explorations module centres around exploring the Great Barrier Reef, where students will be educated on and address issues present in the environment

Students will simulate the outcomes of coral transplantation and the establishment of no-fishing zones, witnessing first-hand the potential revival of coral populations and return of diverse marine life.

Daintree Rainforest Module

The second Eco-Explorations module will feature the Daintree Rainforest of far north Queensland.

In the Daintree Rainforest simulation, students will participate in digital reforestation efforts, understanding the critical balance between human intervention and nature.
