Anu Thomas Koikalethu is a first year PhD student in the School of Biomedical Sciences at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). She attained her master’s degree in biomedical engineering from the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) Aachen, Germany, with a specialization in the study of the tumour microenvironment and its significant implications in cancer progression. She has also held research positions at various institutions, focusing particularly on the development of 3D in-vitro disease models. Presently, her research is dedicated to advancing personalized testing platforms, with the dual objective of providing clinical guidance and unravelling the intricate crosstalk dynamics between breast cancer cells and the bone tumour microenvironment.
Thesis title
Development of bioengineered 3D tumour models for preclinical breast cancer research
