Ali Kabiri is a PhD student in the Biomedical Engineering Program. Ali studied Mechanical Engineering (MSc) and (BSc) at the Tarbiat Modares University and Iran University of Science and Technology, respectively, in Iran. As a graduate, he worked on biomechanical behaviour of fracture fixation plate. Also, he has some experience in the various thermal therapy procedures such as Laser therapy, radiofrequency ablation (RFA), and microwave ablation (MWA). Ali was fascinated by bone implants and wanted to link work in the orthopaedic implants field with his engineering expertise, and this motivated him to pursue a PhD. Through his PhD research, Ali aims to develop a platform for designing patient-specific dynamic fracture fixation plate. Specifically, Ali and his supervision team are working on developing a Biphasic plate that will enable the sufficient stiffness and strength for fractured bone during bone healing process.
