Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineeering

Doctor of Philosophy (University of Angers)

Dr Ajay Pandey received a PhD in Physics from the University of Angers (France) in 2007 for his fundamental research work on Molecular Semiconductor Heterojunctions. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering and Robotics (EER). He held prestigious fellowships including QUT-Vice Chancellor’s Senior Research Fellowship in Medical Robotics, and an Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) Research Fellowship in High Efficiency Photovoltaics. He leads the Integrated Photonics and Quantum Sensing research group with a research focus on building platform technologies aimed at addressing grand challenges in Energy Harvesting, Bio-inspired Intelligence and Consciousness, Non-invasive tools for neuroscience, and Multimodal Biomedical Imaging.  He is a Chief Investigator of  QUT's Centre for Materials Science and Centre for Biomedical Technologies, and also serves as an Editorial Board Member of Scientific Reports- a Springer Nature Group open access journal.

He has graduated 8 PhDs and 2 M.Phil students and currently has the research supervision of 8 PhD students. His teaching roles includes lecturing and unit coordination of EGB240 and EGB348, core Electronics units offered to 2nd and 3rd year undergraduate engineering students. He has published >115 research publications, 1 patent, and 3 book chapters that are consistently cited by top research groups from academia and industry .
