A significant project currently under way by researchers in the CARE Lab is exploring the concept of mental labour, also known as mental load or mental workload. A news article from the ABC a few years ago was one of the first ‘publications’ that Zoë read that ignited her interest in mental load and how it may impact on intimate relationships. This cartoon by French blogger and cartoonist ‘Emma’ was another popular press item that contributed to Zoë’s interest in mental labour and was the early basis for Malcolm Stamp’s research project about measuring mental labour.
