Muhammad Ali (Ali) commenced his career as a full-time academic in March 2010. He has achieved the following qualifications:
  • 2009: PhD from Melbourne University
  • 2003: MBA from California State University (CSU)
  • 1998: MPA from Quaid-i-Azam University
  • 1995: BCom from Punjab University
Prior to joining the MBA program at CSU, Ali worked in industry in HR positions:
  • Assistant Branch Officer in a life insurance company. He received appreciation letters from the Managing Director and the Branch Manager for passing the professional development exam and excellent performance
  • Assistant Manager HR in a manufacturing organisation. His team was responsible for most HR and general administration matters in a factory of 500 employees

Ali's research focuses on measuring effectiveness of workforce diversity management policies and practices and work-life programs. He also investigates the human resource elements of corporate governance. His research has provided important insights in the areas of board age and gender diversity, managerial and non-managerial gender diversity, work-life programs, gender-focused HRM, age diversity practices, board size and firm performance. He has published several papers in high quality peer-reviewed journal.
