ISS/ISM
Project dates: 01/07/2014 - Ongoing
The integrated projects began in 2014 and to date have involved six secondary and one primary school. The schools are integrating YDM TDT with AIM, AIM EU, XLR8 and/or MITI.
Although all schools receive training in YDM and whichever other projects they have selected, each school is different in how they integrate the projects. The role of YDC staff in this process is twofold:
- to provide the necessary training in the selected projects
- to work with the leadership teams to develop school-specific programs that successfully meet the needs of the students.
As a result, our involvement in the schools differentiates and is specific to the schools.
In-school testing has shown that classes implementing the YDM pedagogy have performed better in tests, including NAPLAN, than those classes where there is no implementation of YDM. This result is reinforcing the development of YDM-based teaching to renew all mathematics classes in these schools.
