Applications for the 2018/19 CSIRO ASSETS program are open from 22 May to 12 June 2018. Students from all over Australia will come together at one of three summer schools to be held in Townsville, Newcastle and Adelaide on the following dates:
- Townsville: 13–21 December 2018
- Newcastle: 3–11 January 2019
- Adelaide: 13–21 January 2019
ASSETS is for Year 10 students who are interested in science, technology, engineering or mathematics and who identify with their Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage.
ASSETS students will benefit from attending a nine-day summer school and participating in an ongoing leadership and support program designed to nurture and encourage these students through Years 11 and 12. The summer school program combines interactive science inquiry activities with engaging cultural experiences. There is no cost to attend. Airfares, meals and accommodation are provided.
