Dr. Baiqian (Luke) Shi completed his PhD in Civil Engineering from Monash University in 2022, focusing on urban stormwater management. His research interests include real-time monitoring and control of urban water systems, water quality modelling, integrated urban water management and low-cost sensor development. Dr. Shi has led several significant research projects in collaboration with major water authorities across Australia, including real-time sensing frameworks for pollution detection, human health risks associated with stormwater recycling, and digitalised water infrastructure. He has authored 12 journal papers in reputable publications and received the POUL HARREMOËS AWARD at the International Conference on Urban Drainage in 2021 for novel ideas by young researchers. Currently, Dr. Shi co-chairs the international working group on Real-time Control of Urban Drainage Systems under the IWA/IAHR Joint Committee of Urban Drainage.
