On November 26, 2025, Yiyang Yuan successfully passed her PhD Candidacy Examination, marking an important milestone in her doctoral journey. The exam was conducted online via Zoom while she is currently based in China.
Her presentation, titled “Optimizing biomethane and phosphorus recovery from high-organic municipal wastes via anaerobic digestion in single-phase reactor”, explored strategies to enhance biomethane production and phosphorus recovery from high-organic municipal wastes, demonstrating strong scientific rigor and a clear research vision.
Passing the candidacy signifies that her research direction and academic preparation have been formally recognized by the committee, laying a solid foundation for her upcoming dissertation work.
