Research Interests
Low-consumption, high-efficiency nitrogen removal from wastewater: Developing rapid start-up strategies for anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) reactors and establishing efficient nitrogen removal processes based on granular sludge reactors to treat various types of nitrogen-containing wastewater. Hengbo’s research features include an in-depth investigation of the role and mechanisms of granular activated carbon materials in anammox reactors, novel resource recovery and reuse in microbial reactors, and the enhancement of mainstream wastewater anammox processes.
