Doctor of Philosophy (University of Queensland), Marine Structures (Tarbiat Modares University), Civil Engineerinfg (Iran University of Science and Technology)
Overview
Dr Maziar Korzani is a research fellow interested in computational mechanics using advanced numerical modelling techniques. He is currently developing a fast flood modelling tool to tackle our real-world problem of climate change. He is also Editor-In-Chief of Geothermal Energy Journal, Springer. After several years of working experience in industry, he received his PhD in civil-geotechnical engineering at the University of Queensland, Australia in 2017, in which, he developed his first computational code, called ”PersianSPH”, to model post-failure behaviour of terrestrial structures using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH). Later, he joined Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany, as a postdoctoral researcher focusing on coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical-chemical (THMC) processes, multi-phase and multi-component flow in porous media. Maziar was also the organizer and committee member of the European Geothermal Workshop for several years. He has published >25 peer-reviewed journal papers and proceedings.
