Research excellence in Structural Wind and Fire Engineering


QUT’s Wind and Fire Lab has a team of postgraduate researchers, postdoctoral research fellows and academics specialising in Structural Wind and Fire Engineering research. The twenty member Wind and Fire Lab team of qualified professional researchers is one of the largest groups in Australia.

The Wind and Fire Lab exists to:

    • Conduct both fundamental and applied research in Structural Wind and Fire Engineering and disseminate information through publications, seminars, workshops and conferences.
    • Undertake multidisciplinary research related to the Safety of Steel Buildings against Wind and Fire disasters and disaster resilience in general.
    • Provide first-class education in Structural Wind Engineering, Structural Fire Engineering, Steel Building Safety and Disaster Resilience.
    • Deliver Wind and Fire Safety testing and consultancy services to industry and profession.
