Research excellence in structural wind and fire engineering
QUT’s Wind and Fire Lab has a team of postgraduate researchers, post-doctoral research fellows and academics specialising in structural wind and fire engineering research. The 15-member wind and fire engineering team of qualified professional researchers is one of the largest groups in Australia.
The QUT Wind and Fire Engineering Lab exists to:
- conduct both fundamental and applied research in structural wind and fire engineering and disseminate information through publications, seminars, workshops and conferences
- undertake multidisciplinary research related to the safety of steel buildings against wind and fire disasters and disaster resilience in general
- provide first-class education in structural wind engineering, structural fire engineering, steel building safety and disaster resilience
- deliver wind and fire safety testing and consultancy services to industry and profession.
