Thanuja Hemachandra is a Civil Engineering Graduate with a Bachelor of Science of Engineering Honours Degree from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Before commencing her PhD career at QUT, she worked as a Structural Design Engineer in the industry for eight months. Thanuja joined the Wind and Fire Engineering Lab in February 2025 as a Doctoral Student and her research is cantered on Assessing the bushfire risk of buildings in the bushland-urban interface caused by building-to-building fires.
