Jenothan Makeswaran is a Civil Engineering Graduate with a Bachelor of the Science of Engineering Honours Degree from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. He obtained a Master of Science in Engineering Degree from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka focusing on Enhancing the Lateral Performance of Thin-Walled Steel Hollow Piers with Novel Energy Dissipation Mechanisms under Cyclic Lateral Loading. Before starting his PhD journey at QUT, he worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka for more than two years. Jenothan joined the Wind and Engineering Lab in June 2023 as a Doctoral Student and his research is centered on Localised Pull-through Failures of Cold-formed Steel Cladding Systems under Combined Wind and Bushfire Actions.
