Prof Rick Tyrrell

    Rick Tyrrell, Ph.D., is a Professor of Psychology at Clemson University in South Carolina, USA. Trained in experimental psychology at Penn State University, Rick studies vision and driving with particular emphasis on the safety and conspicuity of vulnerable road users at night. Rick has collaborated extensively with Prof. Wood to study ways to make pedestrians and bicyclists more conspicuous to drivers at night. In 2012 Rick was awarded the A. R. Lauer Safety Award by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society for outstanding contributions to human factors aspects in the area of safety.
