Dr Rebecca Cox

    Rebecca Cox is a current PhD student at the QUT School of Optometry and Vision Science. Rebecca graduated with a Bachelor of Science (vision science) and a Bachelor of Optometry from the University of New South Wales in 2013 with first class Honours. Rebecca was awarded the Susan Larter Vision Trust prize for paediatric Optometry, the Clinical Optometry Prize, and the Australian college of Optometry Outstanding Graduate Award. After graduating, Rebecca practiced Optometry in regional NSW where she developed an interest in the provision of eye care in remote communities. In 2016 Rebecca commenced work as a clinical Optometry supervisor at the QUT health clinics where she is still involved with a number of clinics including paediatrics, low vision, and therapeutics.

     

    Rebecca commenced her PhD in 2018 investigating retinal and choroidal changes in Indigenous Australian adolescents with type 2 diabetes. Rebecca is also currently a Board director for Optometry Queensland/Northern Territory.
