    Mahesh Kumar Dev is a PhD student at the School of Optometry and Vision Science at QUT. After completing Bachelor Degree in Optometry and Vision Science from Maharajgunj Medical Campus, Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 2010, Mahesh worked in clinical optometry practice for 5 years in hospitals of Nepal. During this period, motivated by his undergraduate research project on visual impairment and ocular morbidity in nursing home residents, he further continued research on quality of life among nursing home residents. In 2015, Mahesh also completed short-term fellowship in Low Vision and Rehabilitation from LV Prasad Eye Institute, India.

    In 2017, Mahesh commenced PhD research degree studies in low luminance vision and falls under the supervision of Professor Joanne Wood. Mahesh is currently engaged in research on low luminance vision and function in visually impaired adults in community and residential aged-care.
