The Science and Engineering Centre (SEC) is QUT’s state-of-the-art home to the Institute of Future Environments (IFE). Viser have developed tools and services to capture, process, and visualise the data produced by the SEC.
The project uses a variety of technologies to enable live and historical data to be viewed and downloaded by QUT students and researchers. Datasets include:
- Building services
- Building occupancy
- The Cube
- Structure sensors
- Weather
This work has been achieved through close collaboration with Facilities Management, IT Services, Schneider Electric, and specialist consultants.
The project website www.sensingsec.qut.edu.au allows centre visitors and occupants to view data in real time and gain a greater understanding of how the the building operates.
