Congratulations to researchers from the School of Optometry and Vision Science and the School of Psychology and Counselling whose study examining the mental health and well being of Australian optometrists was recently published in the UK College of Optometrists journal Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics.
This important study, conducted prior to COVID-19 related lockdowns and practice restrictions, identified that the rates of mental health conditions and burnout reported by practising Australian optometrists were substantially higher in comparison to the general population and other health professionals.
