    Title of Thesis:Automatic Classification and Segmentation of Lung Pathologies on Lung Ultrasound Using Artificial Intelligence for COVID-19 Induced Respiratory Disease Detection”.

    Khalid holds a Master’s degree in Radiography from Cardiff University (2019) and a Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Radiology from Jazan University (2013). He has gained valuable experience through his positions as a radiographer at the Ministry of Health in Tabouk and Jazan, Saudi Arabia (2013–2015), and as a teaching assistant at Jazan University (2019–2022). Khalid is presently working on the application of Artificial Intelligence to the field of Ultrasound. His research interests focus on the automatic classification and segmentation of lung diseases using lung ultrasound for the diagnosis of COVID-19-induced respiratory diseases.

    His Principal Supervisor is A/Prof Davide Fontanarosa with his Associate Supervisor Dr Chris Edwards.
