Chris Edwards is an educator, researcher, and experienced clinical Radiographer and Sonographer with extensive experience in the medical imaging field. He coordinates the Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound within the School of Clinical Sciences. His work aims to advance the sonography profession through strategic collaboration, applied research, and the development of national accreditation standards.

His research focuses on applying advanced ultrasound techniques, such as shear wave elastography and attenuation estimation, to improve the early detection and diagnosis of diseases. He collaborates with institutions like CSIRO, Mater Research, and QLD Health and has received significant grant funding, emphasising his commitment to translating research into the real world.

Chris holds a concurrent position with QLD Health as an Advanced Radiographer & Sonographer at Redcliffe Hospital.  He has led national initiatives as former Chair and Board Director of the Australasian Sonographer Accreditation Registry, contributing significantly to advancing national accreditation standards.  He is a fellow of the Australasian Sonographers Association (ASA) and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Chris remains committed to mentoring the next generation of sonographers, fostering research opportunities, and contributing to the profession's ongoing development.
