Assoc Prof Jennifer Alford (STEL) will speak at the international Education for Education and Social Justice Across Borders: Celebrating 100 Years of Paulo Freire Conference at University of South Australia, Adelaide, in December on Critical Literacies.
The event will see scholars from Brazil, Australia, Canada and the USA reflect on the influential works of Brazilian educator and philosopher Paulo Freire and generate a research trajectory for the future.

The event will also launch The Handbook of Critical Literacies (2021, Routledge) edited by Assoc Prof Jennifer Alford and four international scholars. The Handbook includes 50 chapters from scholars around the world including chapters by several STEL and SECIE academics: Dr Lisa van Leent, Dr Lynn Downes, Prof Annette Woods, Dr Radha Iyer, Dr Nerida Spina & Assoc Prof Jennifer Alford.
