Dr Dagmar Bruenig

Dagmar (Daggi) Bruenig, PhD, is an Early Career Academic at the School of Psychology and Counselling, QUT. During her PhD, Dagmar investigated genetic and psychological predisposition to risk and resilience to PTSD in military veterans, being the first researcher to investigate resilience as a psychological construct rather than disorder absence in molecular research. Dagmar has a keen interest in the broad variations in post-trauma responses with a particular focus on resilience. Having worked in the area of genetics and epigenetics for seven years, she maintains a focus on interdisciplinary research that combines differentiated approaches to understanding psychological constructs. Dr Bruenig has been working across different frontline cohorts, such as military personnel, paramedics, and correctional services officers. Before joining the academic community, Dagmar had a career in international project management.
