The unexpected Australian group that could get the coronavirus vaccine first

Our just published PLOS ONE paper is in the news! The paper analyses vaccination strategies for influenza-like diseases, and proposes a new strategy that prioritises vaccine recipients based on the types of places people have visited, rather than a detailed account of all their contacts. The strategy is significantly easier and cheaper to implement than detailed contact-based approaches, yet still achieves comparably high efficiency to the hypothetical optimal strategy.
