I am fascinated by nanomaterials because of the extraordinary properties they possess. Nanotechnology is a really dynamic and fast developing area of research. Having the opportunity to work on in this field, and get a better understanding of the fundamentals of materials is something that excites me.

In particular I would like to continue to study the surface reactions on metal nanostructures and thin films. The aim of this is work is to enable us to design and engineer devices which can work as sensors for gas sensing applications.
