Michael is an EdD student who is passionate about understanding disruption and its effects on teaching and learning. Before pursuing his postgraduate studies on education at QUT, he taught chemistry and research subjects and held various management roles at Philippine Science High School Southern Mindanao Campus. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in chemistry from Ateneo de Davao University and holds two professional licenses as a registered chemist and licensed professional teacher of the Philippines. His undergraduate and graduate research projects won regional and national awards and funding. At present, Michael wants to gain better understanding on how to better support learning and teaching in the context of disruption by exploring the areas of emotion, social bonds and epistemic cognition.
