PhD Research Topic:
Understanding the Relationship between Urban Planning and Wind Energy in Australian Cities
PhD Research Summary:
Renewable energy is high on the Australian and international agenda. However, renewable energy generation and transmission can be costly due to the distance from urban areas where demand is greatest. To solve this problem, microgeneration, of which consumer generate their own electric power, has become an important part of the energy strategies of many cities. This PhD study investigates how Australian cities can better accommodate microgeneration through evidence-based urban planning, with a focus on wind energy.
