PhD Research Summary:
The objective of this PhD research is to investigate and enhance our understanding of the role of responsible artificial intelligence (AI) in urban planning. The study aims to shed light on the development and deployment of AI technologies in urban planning based on literature, international best practices, and stakeholders’ views. The developed frameworks will be tested in different case studies from Australian and international urban planning contexts. The study will provide detailed insights into how to responsibly deploy AI technologies, particularly computer vision, and how they offer new prospects in urban planning and development contexts.
