PhD Research Topic:

Applying Responsible GeoAI for Climate-Resilient Urban Planning: Comparative Insights from Lae and Brisbane City

PhD Research Summary:

The focus of the research is on how GeoAI can be used responsibly to support climate-resilient urban planning in Brisbane and Lae by developing a strong theoretical foundation, improving methodological approaches, and analyzing spatial patterns of climate risks. My work uses a mixed‑methods approach that brings together geospatial modelling and stakeholder engagement to ensure the outcomes are ethical, context-appropriate, and equitable. Through this research, I aim to produce more accurate vulnerability assessments, evidence-based adaptation strategies, and meaningful contributions that support both academic understanding and practical planning in Australia, PNG, and similar regions.
