Ms Marijne Medhurst is a senior research assistant in the School of Early Childhood and Inclusive Education within the Faculty of Education at QUT. She assists Professor Linda Graham.
Marijne completed a Bachelor of Pedagogics and a Master of Educational Sciences at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, before moving to Australia. Since then, she has worked as a research assistant on various education research projects. Marijne is currently undertaking a part-time PhD, which focuses on how teachers support students with disability to engage with teacher-based assessment in mainstream secondary classrooms. Her research interests include the transition to inclusive education, inclusive pedagogical practices, the deployment of support staff, and classroom assessment.
From 2020, Marijne will work on the Australian Research Council Linkage funded project “Improving outcomes through accessible assessment and inclusive practices”.
