Push to overhaul teacher training to help kids read

Academics from three universities, including Professor Linda Graham, A/Prof Sonia White and Ms Haley Tancredi from the QUT #SELB research group have called for teacher training to include at least one compulsory unit of systematic phonics instruction, after a longitudinal study identified a link between poor student behaviour and reading difficulties.
