The pavement material testing facility is equipped with an environmental chamber, a beam fatigue tester, an IDT (Indirect Tensile) test apparatus, and 3 RLT (Repeated Load Triaxial) apparatus designed to assess the design properties of both bound and unbound pavement materials. Inside the environmental chamber, the IDT test apparatus and the beam fatigue tester can measure the resilient modulus and fatigue properties, respectively, of bound pavement materials like asphalt and cemented materials. The RLT setup is utilised for assessing the resilient modulus of unbound pavement materials, such as crushed rock, recycled concrete aggregates (RCA), recycled asphalt pavement (RAP), marginal pavement materials, etc., under varying confining stresses, densities, moisture contents, and drainage conditions (drained or undrained).
