Overview

The Speech, Audio, Image and Video Technologies (SAIVT) research program is based at QUT’s Gardens Point campus.

We conduct world class research, postgraduate training, industrial consultancy and product development in the areas of speech, audio, image and video technologies. A major focus of our research is in applying machine learning and pattern recognition techniques to solve real world problems in computer vision and speech and language processing.

Our research group was established in 1989 and has seen 66 PhD students and 12 masters by research students graduate in the areas of speech, audio, image and video technologies. Currently 20 full-time PhD students are enrolled in the group.
