Sandie McEwan is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), where she explores how and why soil carbon persists in Northern Australia, focusing on the role of microbial ecology. She has a background in molecular biology and a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) focused on how ecosystem disturbance influences microbial ecology and soil carbon pools. Sandie is also a research assistant for the Sustainable Agroecosystems team, supporting diverse aspects of the research program, including field and laboratory activities, method development, soil data management, and undergraduate teaching.
