
Dr. Charuni Jayasekara is a research assistant in the Sustainable Agroecosystems program at the Centre for Agriculture and the Bioeconomy. She has expertise in carbon dynamics, soil processes, and biogeochemistry, with research experience in Australian alpine and tropical peatlands as well as Melbourne drinking water catchments. Her work focuses on greenhouse gas fluxes, organic matter decomposition, and drivers of water quality, using both innovative field techniques and laboratory methods. She is now applying her skills to support research on sustainable agroecosystems and their role in enhancing climate and environmental resilience.
