Riedlinger Joins National Panel on the Future of AI in Science

Associate Professor Michelle Riedlinger from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) joined leading experts in Canberra for an Australian Academy of Science panel discussion titled AI in Science: The Promise, Perils and Path Forward” on 9 December 2025.

This lively debate focussed on how artificial intelligence is reshaping scientific discovery, accelerating innovation, and influencing how knowledge is produced and communicated. Panellists examined the opportunities and challenges presented by AI technologies and the implications for trust in scientific research.

The panel was part of the Academy’s AI in Science: The Promise, Perils and Path Forward public speaker series for 2025, which aimed to provoke thoughtful discussion on the future of science in an age of advanced AI.
