In her role as a Senior Research Officer, she partnered with Dr Matthew Dunbabin to investigate how senior high school students chose to engage with an ROV (Remotely Operated underwater Vehicle) as part of their marine studies course. In particular, they determined their controlling interface preferences and explored potential ROV applications among non-specialist users. The data collected were subsequently used to inform the development of the new RangerBot, which won the Peoples’ Choice Award for the 2016 Google Impact Challenge.
