Cultural Snapshots

The RAASI team and our partners at the Regional Australia Institute have pulled together existing arts funding datasets, plus qualitative data from the RAASI project, to provide a snapshot of art, culture and creativity across our two research sites: central western Queensland and north west Tasmania.

Drawing from Australia Council for the Arts electoral data, ABS data, and Office for the Arts funding data, these documents bring together information that has not previously been in conversation. These cultural snapshots show formal employment in creative industries; perceptions of arts and cultural activity; attendance at workshops and performances; approved federal grants funding; number of grants received, and the RAASI project’s early observations around how arts and culture are positioned and valued in the two project sites.
