Associate Lecturer, School of Mathematical Sciences

Dr Shovanur Haque is as an associate lecturer in Mathematical Sciences at Queensland University of Technology. She completed her PhD in Statistics on Data Linkage in November 2018. Her PhD research developed a Markov chain based Monte Carlo simulation approach, MaCSim, for accessing a linking method or for comparing multiple linking methods.

After her PhD, she worked in statistical roles at key government agencies: the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Queensland Department of Environment and Science. Currently she is working on a Centre for Data Science (CDS) project that seeks to understand how spatial aggregation of data can change the inferences underpinning medical decision making.

Her research interest includes Bayesian statistical modelling, Spatial Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Markov Chain Monte Carlo, Record Linkage
