Sewmini Jayatilake

PhD, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering

Sewmini Jayatilake is a final year PhD student at Queensland University of Technology. She has a Bachelor of the Science (Hons.) in Civil Engineering and worked as a Temporary Lecturer at University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, before joining QUT.

Her PhD research is on Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) station platform operation, which focuses on passenger behaviour and activities on BRT platforms and passenger interaction with bus operation. Sewmini’s PhD research involves real data analysis to reflect real world scenarios.

Her research interests are transport planning, transit operation. She also works as a sessional academic in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Queensland University of Technology.
