PhD (University of Queensland)
Robert completed his Ph.D. in Statistics at the University of Queensland in 2018 on the topic of advanced Monte Carlo methodology. Prior to joining the QUT Centre for Data Science. Robert held research fellowships at both The University of Queensland and UNSW Sydney.
His research lies at the intersection of statistics and machine learning, with a focus on developing improved robust computational techniques that are able to tackle challenging problems such as increasingly large datasets and model complexity. He is also keenly interested in the development of new scientific models that involve the principled combination of advanced machine learning techniques, domain expertise, and purpose-designed computational methodology that is designed to exploit the mathematical structure of the target problem(s).
